What do I need to do if I want to open my accommodation establishment under Alert Level 3?

Published: 30 July 2020

On 30 July the Minister of Tourism announced individuals will be permitted to leave their homes for leisure purposes within the province where they currently live.

Accommodation establishments that are allowed to operate under Level 3 will now also be permitted to operate for leisure intra-provincially subject to the following: –

  • No more than two people per room except for a nuclear family (parents and their children).
  • Establishments are already legally obliged to require and keep a copy of proof of identity.

This will come into force once new regulations are published.

The minister further announced that short term home-sharing/ rental is still not to be permitted.

This FAQ will be updated as soon as the new regulations are published.
