In the Regulations made in terms of Section 27(2) of the Disaster Management Act published on 25 March 2020, and amended on 2 April 2020, it states that every person is confined to his or her place of residence, unless strictly for the purpose of performing an essential service, obtaining an essential good or service, collecting a social grant, pension, or seeking emergency, life-saving, or chronic medical attention.
The Regulations also make allowance for attending a funeral under certain conditions. For more information about funerals please click here
