Is leisure travel permitted under alert level 3?

Yes, leisure travel within the province where you live is to be permitted.

On 30 July the Minister of Tourism announced individuals will be permitted to leave their homes for leisure purposes within the province where they currently live. This will be permitted once new regulations are published.

The minister further announced that short term home-sharing/ rental is still not to be permitted.

This means that you will be allowed to travel for leisure purposes within the province.

The minister further announced that the curfew will be shifted by one hour from 21h00 – 04h00 to 22h00 – 04h00. So ensure that you reach your destination by 22h00 if you are travelling for leisure.

This FAQ will be updated once the Regulations have been published.
