The Disaster Management Act published on 25 March 2020, it states that: “There will be no flights at all during the lockdown. Furthermore, land borders will all be closed except for essential goods and services being transported to neighbouring countries”.
In the Directions published by the Department of Home Affairs on 26 March 2020, it is also stated that “during the period of National Lock-down, no foreigner may be issued with a visa for purposes of travel into the Republic, and no person will be allowed entry into, or transit through, or departure from, the Republic.
